Train To Be A Nurse Aide


If you, or someone you know, would like to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Southeast Colorado Hospital District will be offering a Nurse Aide Class in February. Applicants need to be 16 or older, and must pass a background check and a drug screen. The class is free if you work for SECHD or for Walsh Healthcare.

Classes: October 2-20

Deadline for application: September 15

New, higher pay rates for Nurse Aides established in March of 2015.

Wages at SECHD when Certified: $10.50

Wages at SECHD after 90 days: $11.50

Nurse aides learn to care for hospital patients and residents in Long Term Care Centers. The Nurse Aide Class is an opportunity to begin a career in the medical field. The classes run three weeks, from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. To apply, you must be 16 or older with no record of a felony, violent or theft crime and you must pass a drug screening to be considered for the class. A reading comprehension test and an interview will be completed prior to acceptance into the Nurse Aide Class.
