Home Health/Hospice Director - Home Health & Hospice
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Registered Nurse in Colorado and have a Basic Life Support (BSL) certificate. Experience in working in Home Health and geriatrics, BSN desirable or 5 years comprehensive administrative and supervisory experience. Requires strong managerial and people skills, excellent verbal and written communication, strong planning, motivating, and decision-making skills, as well as creativity and good telephone skills. The ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides nursing expertise for the development of agency policy and carries ultimate responsibility and authority for the nursing component of the home health agency and hospice. Provides leadership and coordination with other organizations and institutions to accomplish changes needed for the improvement and extension of nursing services through the agency’s jurisdiction. Commitment to integrated interdisciplinary team management. Establish goals and objectives for the department. Is responsible for developing the budget for the department and assures compliance by monitoring budgeting reports. Functions as a representative of the nursing staff and hospice organization to outside organizations and institutions. Formulates general policies and programs, reviewing and revising as necessary. Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SECHD policies and applicable laws. Investigates and responds to incident reports, gather data, and resolve issues. Oversee the development, implementation, and management of department’s Continuous Quality Improvement plan. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, orientating; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Develops and conducts staff meetings and case conferences. Regular attendance and punctuality. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Required to regularly talk or hear. Frequently required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift, handle and/or move up to 50 pounds. Frequent push/pulling or twisting/turning motion. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

Occasional: 1% - 33% of activity; Frequent: 34% - 66% of activity; Continuous: 67% - 100% of activity.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have available working automobile, liability car insurance, valid driver’s license. Must be professional, flexible, caring, and compassionate and exhibit a congenial and sensitive attitude toward patients. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families and staff members. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Frequent exposures common to clinical environment such as medical preparations and toxic substances. Occasional exposure to ionizing radiation.
