Level I or II- CNA/MA/LPN/RN - Clinic
Assist provider with examinations and/or treatments and give instructions to patients as requested by the provider. Takes vital signs, draws blood and interviews patient concerning the reason for the visit to the clinic. Take patient blood pressure, weight, pulse, temperature, and/or respiration and complete patient history information during medical visit. Performs routine to moderately difficult assessment/treatment procedures such as EKG's, holter monitors, audiometers, tympanograms, blood pressure stress tests, ambulatory monitors, glucose screening, hematocrits, etc. May assist the provider with minor surgical procedures including mole removals, flex sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, lacerations, and suture removals. Utilize appropriate sterile technique when applicable. Administer medications as ordered by provider. Complete diagnostic requisition forms, and assist in scheduling of diagnostic tests. Relay results of certain diagnostic tests to patients when indicated by the provider. Obtains referral appointments from outside physicians, obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for procedures and fax all prescriptions to appropriate pharmacies by 5:00 pm each day. Assist in maintenance of patient charts, documentation of phone calls, and direct general office activities. Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms, request supplies to maintain adequate stock and takes soiled linen to Laundry Department as needed. Assist with coding of lab and x-ray forms. Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms and request supplies to maintain adequate stock. Responsible for handling all aspects of a clinic wide activity such as inventory control, test analysis, data input, patient education, clinic budget, research project activities, etc., and ensuring that the activity is completed. Disposes of bio-hazard waste as needed. Attends meetings and in-service sessions, as directed. Requires regular attendance and punctuality. Performs other assigned duties.
Level I- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid current license as a C.N.A. with minimum of 2 yrs of experience, Licensed Practical Nurse in Colorado or certified Medical Assistant. Current CPR certification. Must have the ability to actively utilize the nursing process with all patients in clinic setting or over the phone. Proficient computer skills.
Level II- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse with one year experience, or certified Medical Assistant with one year experience, or Registered Nurse. Current CPR certification. Must have the ability to actively utilize the nursing process with all patients in clinic setting or over the phone.
