Our staff of Physicians, Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants will provide you with high quality care, to help ensure a swift recovery.
We provide outpatient services in a comfortable and safe environment. Services include IV antibiotic therapy, hydration and electrolyte therapy, and care and maintenance of implanted ports and PICC lines, as well as other therapies as directed by your primary care provider.
The emergency room is staffed 24 hours a day by on-call physicians. The nursing staff at SECHD has training in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support). If your illness or injury requires transfer to another higher level care facility, we can transport via ground ambulance or by air ambulance. When discharged from the ER, you will receive detailed written instructions for your follow-up care.
Minor surgeries, including laparoscopic procedures such as gallbladder removal, hernia repair, and endoscopy procedures to include gastroscopy and colonoscopy are done once a month. Those surgeries that are more extensive procedures may be referred to a higher level of care.
Swing bed services are unique to Critical Access hospitals. These beds are used for those patients requiring skilled nursing and rehabilitation after certain types of surgeries, such as joint replacement or cardiac procedures. This service allows the patient to receive nursing and therapy care in their local hospital and not have the expense or the stress of being away from home for many weeks. The swing beds are also used for the very ill who require a longer recovery time and are unable to receive that extra care at home.
